Lara Costafreda works as a freelance illustrator from her beautiful studio in Barcelona.
She works for major publications, brands and agencies internationally. Trained in fashion design and visual arts between Barcelona, London (Central Saint Martins) and Rio de Janeiro (PUC), she has a postgraduate degree in creative illustration and visual communication from EINA University and a theoretical research thesis on “The because of the boom of graphic illustration in Catalonia »published by the BAU Design University.
Her floral, romantic and wild illustrations draw a surreal and dreamlike universe, with Mediterranean colors and a Latin American rhythm. A universe that translates not only in terms of illustration, but also through advertising campaigns designed in conjunction with a team of collaborators from the world of communication and the press.
In addition, she has been a member of the board of the Association of Illustrators of Catalonia (APIC), teaches at various design universities in Barcelona (BAU University Design Center, European Institute of Design – IED- and the LCI School of Design) and, since 2016, she has been the promoter and co-founder of the non-profit organization Casa nostra, casa vostra, which works for the reception of refugees.
